Disney Celebrations!

TS Disneyland 2009

For those of you who are prepared to make the annual journey... The Happiest Place on Earth™ awaits. Simultaneous invasions of Walt Disney World and Disneyland will take place this coming Saturday 3 March.

Follow the California invasion on twitter , and look for the photographic evidence both here and on TSU!

  • Disneyland Invasion IV (The Fun Strikes Back) -- California (follow us on Twitter @DisneyVI2012)
  • Invasion Toy Soldier Story III -- Downtown Disney, Florida

Colorado!

Soldier Bella and Lieutenant Rothen are organizing a get-together for Toy Soldier Day (this coming Sunday, 4 March) at Pita Grill, 911 E. Colfax Ave in Denver. The celebrations will start at 11am and last until at least Midnight. Please bring Propaganda and a sense of FUN! Also, don't feel like you have to be there for the entire duration, drop in when you have a moment. Having been to Pita, it's a nice chill place to just hang out. Hope everyone has a blast up there in Denver.

TSU-UK

And finally, on Sunday 4 March the Clockwork Zombies of the 1667th Division (London, UK) will be invading the Imperial War Museum in London, preceded by tactical playtime at the NAMCO Arcade, and followed by yet another rousing night on the town (most likely at the Toy Soldiers' favourite pub, The Hobgoblin in Camden).
Changes to TSU

Greetings High-Altitude Toy Soldiers! I come to you today to announce some changes over at our parent organization, Toy Soldiers Unite. Our digital Bunker is in the process of being upgraded to a newer set-up. From the heavily-modified phpBB setup, we are moving to a more 'social' wordpress-based setup. What does this mean? It means that you will need to re-create your accounts, and rejoin your divisions. Like the Seventh.

So I encourage you to take heart, check out the new site, and remeber that we are still Toy Soldiers, and we are still here to make the world a fun place. Onward! To a Utopian Playland!

Congratulations are in order for the personnel of the Fighting 97th in another successful Halloween invasion of the Witch City (Salem, Massachusetts). This year, the weather (a Nor'Easter) as well as the day (Monday) placed a damper on festivities, but the celebrations all kicked in as evening fell.

A hearty congratulations to Agent Dark's award-winning Giant Robot costume (voted the best by the adulation of the crowds around the Salem Wax Museum); a mark of bravery for Sgt. Moustache who braved the breezy and unseasonable weather to represent the 128th Kilted Divison; and thanks to the Californian contingent for making the trek, Scout Janey, Nurse Ophelia, and YellowJacket Charlene. And finally, check out the photographic and audio/visual evidence taken by Captain Mayo, over on the old forums.

Onward! Toy Soldiers Unite!

Invasion Success!
Toy Soldiers of the 2358th Red Tide Division, with support from the 699th Terminus Division, 118th TSU-UK, and 7th Mountain Regiment successfully invaded the Orlando Theme Parks in the name of Doctor Steel's Utopian Playland. All told there were 40 soldiers in attendance, and the invasion lasted for a grand total of four days. The 'pre-invasion' of Universal Studios (Orlando) started on Friday 4 March, part one of the invasion entered the ExPerimental Community of Tomorrow (EPCOT) on Saturday 5 March, part two invaded the Magic Kingdom on Sunday 6 March, and the 'post-invasion' on Monday 7 March of Disney Hollywood Studios (Orlando). This invasion co-incided with the Fifth Annual Disneyland Invasion in California, with a total of fifty Toy Soldiers in attendance.

The vision of the Utopian Playland was spread again, in no small part to the work of Captain Nurse Risa (and her family), Cadeon (and his family) and Geoff Nicholson; All of these soldiers earned the community accolade of "Toy Soldier of the Week" all stemming from their work on the Invasion. Congratulations to all, and onward we march to the Utopian Playland!

A Sudden Passing
Last Updated: 15 February 2011 11:58
We would like to extend our condolences with our friends in the London Division of the Army of Toy Soldiers to the family of Colonel Necro.

He was a leader of the London Division and a veteran of many invasions. He will be remembered as a kind, dedicated, feisty Toy Soldier who was already a legend before his departure from us. His concern for his fellow soldier and his grin both were infectious, and I'm saddened to hear of his passing.

Invasion! Albuquerque ComicCon 2011
Last Updated: 18 January 2011 17:18
The Seventh Mountain Regiment Successfully invaded the premier Albuquerque ComicCon, handing out propaganda to the willing masses, and even giving interviews for the local Television news crew who had come over to investigate the "Movie Biz" (but the interviews which may have been broadcast do not appear to be available on the website). Yet another successful invasion, in attendance were Scoutmistress Riognanch, Nurse Amy and Soldiers Geoff and Mark.

Photograpgic Evidence forthcoming!

In addition, the division has secured the option of manning the Registration desk for ABQ ComicCon 2012 (providing brainwashing with every ticket!), and learned of an upcoming Albuquerque Comic Expo occurring in June 2011 which can also use some volunteer help. The over nine thousand people who attended the convention is proof that there is a rich subculture to Albuquerque, and that they have been longing for a message of Fun, Happiness, Toys and a Utopian Playland.

Witch Hunt Hits Record Numbers
Toy Soldiers invade Salem Four Years Running
Toy Soldiers of the Fighting 97th invaded the (in)famous Witch town Salem, Massachusetts for the fourth time in a row this last Halloween, on a search for fun, happiness and the supernatural. They found thousands of curious and costumed people wandering about the town, taking in the sights and ripe for brainwashing.

Those embarking from the Division Barracks stopped for breakfast, and propagandized the staff of the local doughnut shop by tripling the number of people in the shop by unloading three car-loads of soldiers into the shop. We also amazed the patrons with the 'interesting costumes'; the brainwashing began early!

Salute! Soldiers were set to assemble in Salem at Lappin Park by the statue of "Samantha" from TV's "Bewitched"; the Toy Soldiers set up with the Banner, taking pictures and spreading propaganda to the masses. Besides being a good meeting place, it was a great corner to subliminally brainwash the visitors taking pictures with the statue, and many many many pictures have Doctor Steel and his Toy Soldier army in the background. The Toy Soldiers marched from their meeting point down the Essex Street pedestrian mall, handing out propaganda and posing for group photographs. Arriving at the Fountain on Essex, the soldiers invaded the interior seeking refuge from the cold and contemplated food. Dancing around and generally making fools of ourselves (in a good way) the army set up in front a beautiful wrought-iron fence across from the Museum Place Mall, and proceeded to have another stationary propaganda point with Geoff and Jack performing as carnival barkers to entice and lure in the populace. Drone, AJ, Schmee, Taco, Kristy, and Donut (to mention a few) spread out in the crowd, distributing propaganda lollipops, enlightening pop-rocks and trick-or-treat brainwashing along with the Further Information pamphlets.

As a memento of the invasion, Rev. Keyblade organized a group photo shoot with a "vintage" photo studio. All of the soldiers who were participating in the invasion filled their largest scene, and we propagandized many as they peered in through the shop window to see all of the soldiers arranged with witches hats, staves, swords and salutes; one of the group photos graced the front-page of ToySoldiersUnite.com.

Many of the visitors and residents of Salem recognized the Toy Soldier force from prior years, and were glad to see "a new Salem Halloween Institution" starting. The recognition continued throughout the evening, when we were stopped by a couple of journalists from the local Salem Gazette. Witch Hunt 4 succeeded in finding plenty of fun, in distributing plenty of propaganda, in brainwashing plenty of people, and set its own record: an all time high of invasion attendees.

Invasion: Nan Desu Kan 2010

Soldiers Aki, Bella, Anthony, Capt. Mothra Bane, Gareth, Dawn, with Lt. Rothen, Lt. Claudia, and Rev. Geoff canvassed the convention, providing fun, happiness and cupcakes to the various and assorted convention attendees and guests. And speaking of guests, Lt. Grimm of TSU-UK was visiting the Seventh Regiment and swung through the convention as well.

Great Grand British London Invasion 2010
Last Updated: 11 September 2010 14:02
Soldier Nicholson joined the 01101th and 669th Divisions in crossing the pond to contribute to the invasion of jolly old London with the rest of TSU-UK.

The British have been renowned for their army, so it comes as no surprise that the British Toy Soldier Army would be of comparable glory. With over fifty soldiers in attendance, many who flew in from other countries, the magnificent British brigade marched through London with pride to spread the word of Steel in an annual event known as The Great Grand British London Invasion". The event was organized by Sir Jack of Blades, Monte, Carnal Commandant Krastus, Baron Andrew Von Jazz, and Sergeant Dutch, but every soldier in attendance did their part.

Beginning on a hot Saturday afternoon, soldiers shared leaflets with strangers and Steel-themed goodies with fellow soldiers, including temporary tattoos. From the grandest of pub-crawls to the most compact of phone booths, Toy Soldiers dispersed propaganda and cheer throughout the great city over the course of the day. They even taught tour guides and tourists alike a few things at the Imperial War Museum! Chinatown and Camden were also infected with the news of the impending Playland.

London MarchHowever, merely one day of revelry would not satiate this stupendous assembly. The invasion carried on for a second day, featuring bumper cars, a protest in Parliament Square, and a trip to every soldier's joy: a toy store! Namely Hamleys, the largest toy store in all of London. Every Tonka truck and Barbie doll was envious of the Ugly doll and Dr. Steel's dancing monkey, featured members of our Steelish group.

The grand invasion concluded at the Steam Engine with a viewing of the World Cup finals and plentiful libations. Participating soldiers report tremendous happiness and pride resulting from this invasion, as well as new recruits and new friends. Some soldiers even found new love. Reluctantly returning to their homes with a buzz of enthusiasm still going strong, soldiers basked in memories of the reportedly epic weekend with the certainty of its return in years to come.

Invasion: Nan Desu Kan XIII

Agent Rothen, Dawn and Commander Nicholson invaded the thirteenth Nan Desu Kan in Denver, Colorado. The premier anime convention of the Rocky Mountains, this year's event was culminated by a surprise attendee: Doctor Steel (clone #37) who commandeered a table and encouraged all of the convention attendees to wash their brain before they back it up, as well as to ask him about World Domination. He also made a tour of the Artist Alley, making sure that all of the artists kept at their creative endeavours, and made Fun the top priority of their work. Doctor Steel was well received, and is rumoured to be making plans for another apperance, provided the robots back in the lab don't malfunction again. Photographic Evidence forthcoming.
Invasion: Penny Arcade Expo
Soldiers from the Seventh Regiment invaded the Pacific Northwest once again this year, attending Penny Arcade Expo Prime 2009 in Seattle, Washington. Joining Sir Roman, Emily, Jerry Rigg, and Killandrake, we invaded the expo hall escorting our very own Doctor Steel (Clone #37) and introducing him to the bewildered and amazed attendees. Photographic evidence forthcoming to the gallery page.
Regimental Organisation
My good friends and comrades in the Army of Toy Soldiers, it is my pleasure to announce some upcoming changes in the command structure of the regiment. Unfortunately, this division is too large and my time too short to be able to be everwhere I need to be. To this end, I have created a Northern Detachment with Lieutenants to be appointed for both Colorado Springs and Denver, as well as a planned Southern Detachment with a Lieutenant for Rio Grande valley. Contact Commander Geoff for further information.

Currently, the reorganisation has only been completed in the Headquarters Company, confirming S. Imbri as Head Nurse, and Riognach as Scoutmistress; once there is more information, the Lieutenants will be named and promoted.
Army Successes
The Army of Toy Soldiers has been busy, propagandising the masses and invading the world. This past 15 August 2009 showed again the glorious cooperation of the Army of Toy Soldiers, resulting in the second Global Invasion. The following locations were successfully invaded:
  • GenCon Indy 2009: The Midwest Mindmelt and Team Action Figure, both under the leadership of Vinny Rattlocke invaded the "Best Four Days of Gaming" in Indianapolis, Indiana
  • Steel City: The Pennsylvania Militia headed by RyRy and the Pitchfork Brigade headed by JET invaded the Carnegie Science Center and the entertainment district (E. Carson St.) of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania with over fifteen soldiers and much public acclaim
  • Toronto Zoo: Dr. Steel's Own Robot Monkeys, in conjunction with TSU Canada headed to the Toronto Zoo during "Zoo-za-pa-looza" and brainwashed both humans and animals with custom-made Doctor Steel tee-shirts and infectious enthusiasm
  • Santa Monica Beach: The 661st, 1123rd, and 805th divisions invaded Santa Monica and Venice Beaches with cupcakes, stickers, the Toy Soldier banner, and fun in the sun.

Additionally, due to the hard work and dedication to soldiers Mango, Captain Logica, Mini Moose and Cadet Hedo, and the continued maintenance of Sky Marshal Jonny B. Goode, there is now a stable Wikipedia page for Doctor Steel (band). Congratulations are in order for these soldiers!

Finally, the army successfully invaded San Diego ComicCon, complete with table and distribution of nearly ten thousand stickers, echoing Doc's triumphant entry into SDCC 2004. FORWARD Toy Soldiers! To a Utopian Playland!

This happens to be the 20th annual running of the largest animation and japanese culture convention in north Texas, and this years' show looks to be twenty years in the making. Other planned activities are propagandising the gaming tables, the registration lines, the event and autograph lines, as well as the Steampunk Ball Friday night. News Post here; Planning Thread here. (Stay tuned for a special surprise!)

Shelter @ Denver
Representatives of the Seventh Regiment will be assembling at the Shelter in Denver, CO on 18 April 2009 to invade this Denver nightclub institution. Bring your uniform, bring your propaganda, but most importantly, bring your dancing shoes! Join the newest YellowJacket, Geoff Nicholson, and other representatives of the Seventh Regiment in downtown Denver on 18 April, for a recruiting mission and celebration.

This is a 21+ establishment, and those soldiers who cannot drive themselves or are not local to the Denver area are encouraged to contact Cmdr. Nicholson to coordinate carpools. Extra mind-control cookies will be provided for drivers!
Zombie Apocalypse Thwarted!
On 13 March 2009, the city of Albuquerque was invaded by zombies, but the forces of the Seventh Mountain Regiment were on hand to document the happenings, and hand out propaganda to the bewildered residents of downtown... and surprisingly to most of the zombies as well. For this was no normal zombie apocalypse, but rather a zombie walk in celebration of Friday the 13th, and which ended in a concert headlining Vertigo Venus at the Launchpad. Photos are chronicled here.
Fun, Happiness, Invasion!
Toy Soldiers the world 'round celebrated Toy Soldier Day this past 4 March, with fun, happiness, cupcakes and giant cups of coffee. The Commander brought fresh cupcakes and "Steelbucks" coffee to work to share the fun and happiness with his co-workers, and got some propaganda in on the side while he worked.

However, the crowning joy of North American Toy Soldiers was the California Disneyland invasion, headed up again this year by Yellow Jacket Lusiphur Malache. Over eighty soldiers from across the United States met up at Disneyland in Anaheim, CA to hold the third-annual Disneyland Invasion. From group pictures with the characters, to hijacking an entire train car on the Disneyland Railroad, and a carousel-load of Toy Soldiers to boot, this invasion was even more successful that last year, and we hope to continue spreading until we rival or exceed Bats Day. Congratulaions to all who attended, the Seventh Regiment looks forward to hosting you in our fine lands soon!
Updates: Gallery; Upcoming Invasions; Toy Soldier Day
The chronicle of the Seventh Mountain Regiment continues ever onward, and to this end, the Image Gallery has been updated with images from the Halloween Dedo invasion with the 301st Desert Foxes, as well as photographic documentation of the Toy Soldier-themed wedding ceremony, written and officiated by Rev. Nicholson.

And to provide more photographic evidence of the Utopian Playland, members of the Seventh Regiment are planning on attending Penny Arcade Expo (Prime) 2009 in September, Project A-Kon 2009 in June, and another Denver Recruiting Mission in April. Many well wishes are directed towards the ComicCon 2009 and GenCon 2009 invasions, we wish them the greatest successes in their endavours, and will attend in spirit if nothing else.

Finally, Toy Soldiers! March Fourth! Celebrate Toy Soldier Day! If you are unable to attend the Disneyland Invasion, or SteelCon, the Seventh Regiment urges you all to have a fantastic Fourth of March and to celebrate the founding, and the fun that is the Utopian Playland of Dr. Phineas Waldof Steel™. ONWARD TOY SOLDIERS!

Denver Recruiting Mission
On Saturday and Sunday 19 and 20 January 2009, Soldiers Nicholson and Kesler undertook a recruiting mission in two of Denver's most popular Goth/Industrial clubs MILK and The Church. Unfortunately, Nurse Sieben was unable to join in the mischief, but a great deal of mischef was had by all. Propaganda was distributed to the masses, and a couple of people even made mention of having heard of Doctor Steel, and were unaware there were Toy Soldiers in the area.

It was also discovered (happily) that black-lights and plain-paper make a glowing propaganda billboard. Sadly, no contributions to the gallery, as there was no foresight to have camera operators standing by. Additionally, plans were made to undertake more frequent recruiting sorties into the Denver Metro Area.

Edison Redwoods Invasion
On Saturday 22 November, Soldier Nicholson successfully infiltrated the 1123rd Fibbonacci Division in preparation for the invasion of the Edison, a steampunk club in downtown Los Angeles, CA. The next day, the representative of the 7th Regiment headed north and met up with Soldiers Green, Justin, Obi and Yellow Jackets Mum, Brain and Roman at the 2007th Fort Nelson. While there, the soldiers took a quick photo-op with the Propagandamobile. Returning into the depths of the 1123rd and meeting up with soldiers from the 2007th and Yellow Jackets Kato and Adam, this band discovered the Edison to be closed. After a relaxing and merry wait, standing about in an unlit car park next to the Catholic nuncio, the scouting-party finally discovered a pirate-themed public house up the street, and we proceded to invade this club instead. Merriment was had until late hours, and many pictures were captured by more ardent shutterbugs than Soldier Nicholson.

Transvestite Preservation Society Infiltrated
This past Saturday, 19 November, the Seventh Regiment began it's infiltration of the New Mexico Transvestite Preservation Society and revealed itself at the club's bi-annual screening of the "Rocky Horror Picture Show". Photographic evidence is now in the Gallery, the usual disclaimer applies. This years' show was severely hampered by a malfunctioning projector, but the pre-pre-show was accompanied with the "Building a Utopian Playland" concert video played on loop. The attempted display of the Propaganda film was unsuccessful, as the trailer-reel that it was looped into was damaged in transit and was unplayable in the theatre's equipment.

But otherwise, this was a successful and enjoyable mission success. Congratulations to Soldiers Isis, Carmiac and Geoff.

Dedo Invasion
Representatives of the Seventh Regiment joined forces with the 301st Desert Fox Division to invade El Paso's Club Dedo on Halloween night. Guerilla Arcko, Nurse Kratchet and Commander Grey Wolf of the 301st were joined by Commander Geoff of the 7th, and distributed propaganda to the masses, talked to many, many people, and debuted Arcko's new propaganda pamphlet which was released to great success and acclaim. Also, the soldiers had some fun on the dance-floor, trying to convince the DJ to play "Back and Forth" by our World Emperor, Doctor Phineas Waldof Steel™.

Forward! To a Utopian Playland!
Episode 2 - The Doctor Steel Show
Bowling Gaming for Toy Soldiers
In a striking move on the weekend of the tenth, the Regimental Bowling night (in support of Operation B.O.T.S.) was pre-empted for a relaxing night of playing board games. Gathering at the regimental headquarters, instead of invading the bowling alley, we invaded Korea, playing a rousing game of Power Grid. In the end, Nurse Imbri defeated Soldiers Carmiac and Geoff. A copy of this report will be dispatched to Commander Danny of the G.A.M.E. Division and also relayed to the Administration of Toy Soldiers Unite.

Forward, towards a Utopian Playland!

But that which takes the cake is a re-broadcast of The Dr. Steel Show: Episode 3. So go and check it out, and if you're a member of mtv.com, give it high ratings!

Doctor Steel Show: Ep 1!
Mission Report: Nan Desu Kan

The NDK invasion was attended by your author, and he was joined by Bat Kat, and a soldier whose name your author has regrettably forgotten (and his brother, see the pictures). At the appointed time, we met up with a couple of con-goers who had mentioned an interest in the Good Doctor during the the course of conversations with the nearly 17,000 total attendees.

Heading outside, we found the Colorado Ghostbusters and attracting a crowd of their own with a Doctor Horrible Cosplayer adding to the mayhem. Arrayed on the edge of their crowd, I waited patiently for them to finish so I could address the conveniently-attracted crowd. As they finished up with their little display, Doctor Horrible motioned me over and handed me the megaphone (how kind of them!). With Bat Kat's music player, and the Ghostbusters' stereo, we broadcast "Back and Forth" to the masses as I extolled the virtues of the Doctor to the assembled crowd. (Again, see pictures)

Bat Kat and I handed out Manifestos, Bookmarks, Postcards, Business Cards, Stickers and DVDs to the crowd, many of whom cheered the Utopian Playland, especially the giant robots. We chatted with the crowd for about twenty minutes before we'd talked to everyone while Ecto-1000 played more music (sadly, not the Doctor's). Eventually, the Ghostbusters got out and danced to their music, so I joined in (as dancing is fun) while Bat Kat continued with the remnants of the crowd. Eventually the crowd broke up and we walked over to talk with gaggles of Cosplayers, handing out more propaganda to them as well.

After about an hour of Propagandising, we disbanded, as I had to get back to working the convention lines, and Bat Kat had to go home. All in all, it was a fun and enjoyable invasion, and we made an impression. Also, the presence of Ecto-1000 further impressed upon me the need for a Mountain Propagandamobile more than ever.

Forward! To a Utopian Playland!
